Baden Infantry Officer Pickelhaube with Parade Plume

Baden Infantry Line Regiments Officer to Parade Model 1897. From an old collection. This is another helmet from this collection that was photograph for Erik Johansson's PICKELHAUBE book from 1980. This helmet appears on page 49 in the middle of the page. Black lacquered helmet body with fire gilded trim. Helmet body has good form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer surface lacquer has a lot of crazing but the lacquer is firmly attached but small areas peeling off (see photo). No extra holes in the helmet body. Interior sweat leather with silk headliner. The silk portion shows wear but is in very good condition ( see photos). The helmet Frontplate is the Baden Line Regiments Griffin banner. Officer style gilt round spike with elongated tricher for black yak hair parade plume. The spike base has star screw retainers. Flat Officer chinscales on rosettes. Officer style 2- piece Reich and Baden non-serrated cockades. Nice Baden Officer helmet that displays well with very full black parade plume. Original and untouched condition. Needs some TLC.- Bargain Priced.
