Great Wartime “in the trench" EM helmet with Field Cover
Prussian EM model 1915 helmet with wartime cloth field cover. From the New England Collection. Black leather helmet with field gray metal trim. Helmet has good form and firm stitching. No extra holes in the helmet body. Nice exterior and metal finish. Complete with leather liner but it is dry with age. No markings noted. Prussian line eagle frontplate with wedge retainers.
No spike as the helmet is used for “Trench Duty”. Reproduction leather chinstrap but original buckles. Damaged Reichs and good Prussian cockades. Helmet has original especially designed wartime EM field cover with detachable bag for spike. Curved cuts in cloth cover that are reinforced with leather to allow chinstrap to be worn out of cloth cover. Cover ink stamp marked in the inside with the maker “S. Adam "Hoflieferamt -Berlin W” and the size “59”. This helmet was probably a Doughboy pickup that was found by the collector. GREAT WARTIME collectible.
