Baden Dragoon Officers Pickelhaube

Baden 20, 21 and 22 Dragoon Regiments - Officer - Model 1897. From the New England Collection. The helmet is the squared front visor "Dragoon Style" black lacquered leather helmet body with all German Silver metal trim. Helmet body in excellent condition with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is matte with age but still is shiny. There are NO extra holes in helmet body. The helmet interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. Both sweat leather and silk headliner show age and use (See photos) but are otherwise in very good condition.

Inner visors red and green as is normal for officer helmets. All metal trim is German silver with the exception of the star retainers and chinscales. The Baden Griffen frontplate has left deep impression in the helmet body as evidenced in photos. Crossed silver spike base with tall smooth spike for service wear. Gold stars secure the spike base to helmet body. Rounded gold chinscales on silver rosettes. Officer Reichs and Baden non serrated cockades. This helmet shows period use and wear but is in overall in excellent condition. This helmet has not been cleaned or polished. Perfect example of a Baden Dragoon officer
