Prussian Garde du Corps Eigenthums Pickelhaube

Prussian Guard du Corps or Guard Kurassier Regiment - Private Purchase Enlisted Mans helmet Model 1894. Enlisted man's “Lobstertail" style helmet body in Tombac metal with German silver trim. The helmet body has perfect form and contour. No extra holes in the helmet body. The exterior metal has soft age related sheen with some small dings (see photos) but no serious damage.  The front plate is a large silver Prussian Guard Star with a small black eagle in the center. The plate is of high quality with extremely nice detail.

Elliptical EM style silver spike base with removable style spike in Tombac.  The base is mounted to helmet with silver domed screw retainers. The interior of the helmet has a black dyed leather liner that is  complete and still supple (see photos). The interior back visor is covered in black enamel paint and the front visor is green painted. The helmet is marked with size “57” and maker “Damaschke” but no distinctive regimental marks.The helmet has Kurassier style form with M1894 side lugs for the mounting of chinscales.  Special rounded Tombac chinscales over side lugs over large style Reichs and Prussian cockades.

This is the Classic GdC or GK helmet that is the center of most collections.  Excellent conditioned and all original helmet.
