Extremely Rare and Regimentally Marked Helmet
Prussian 34th Fusilier Regiment (Queen Victoria of Swedens Regiment-Headquartered in Stettin) Reserve Enlisted Man Model 1895. Black lacquered leather helmet with brass metal trim. Helmet body is in sound condition with firm stitching and slightly crazed exterior lacquer (see photos). No extra holes in helmet body. The frontplate is the Prussian Line Eagle with the special banner recognizing this regiment as the body guard regiment of the Queen of Sweden "Für Auszeichnung d.vormalig Konigl. Schwedischen Leibregt. Königin" (see photos). The frontplate is stamped in one piece.
On the Eagles chest is a separate silver Prussian Reserve cross. The frontplate is held to the helmet body with original leather wedges. Brass EM style base and non-detachable spike held to helmet body with split brad retainers. The helmet interior has black dyed standard leather liner that is stamped on the inside “F.R. 34”. The headliner is in excellent condition and is still supple. Leather visors do not have any markings. Original leather chinstrap on M91 side lugs. Original Reich and Prussian EM cockades. 100% ALL ORIGINAL and RARE regimental helmet.
