Original to period - rare set of scales.

Black lacquered leather helmet body with firm stitching to visors. Lacquer in overall near mint condition with no flaws. extremely well preserved. Silver trim the Saxon Silver starburst and the gilt state wappen in the center. Plate is held to helmet by two loops held with leather wedges (one is actually a piece of wood) - see pitures. No extra holes. Nice silver spike that untwists to adapt a trichter for parade, all retained by domed split brads.

Inside black liner remains in excellent condition with the original leather lace. no markings inisde visors or helmet that we could see. M1891 silver side posts with a beautiful and unusual set of flat silver scaled chinscales (rare) over two saxon cockades that appear to be repainted. A nice Leib Regiment helmet...complete as described.
