Prussian Officers Line Dragoon Pickelhaube

Prussian Line Dragoon Regiments (4, 5. 6.10, 12, and 15) - Officer - Model 1897. From the New England Collection. The helmet is the squared front visor "Dragoon Style" black lacquered leather helmet body with all German Silver metal trim. Helmet body in good condition with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is crazed with age and has some mild lacquer loss (see photos). There are no extra holes in helmet body. The helmet interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. Both sweat leather and silk headliner show age, use and are have dirty silk (See photos).

Inner visors red and green as is normal for officer helmets. The leather back visor has a small piece missing (see photos). All metal trim is German silver with the exception of the star retainers and chinscales. The Line Prussian Dragoon frontplate has left deep impression in the helmet body. Crossed silver spike base with tall smooth spike for service wear. Gold stars secure the spike base to helmet body. Rounded gold chinscales on silver rosettes. Officer Reichs and Prussian cockades. This helmet shows period use and wear but is in overall in good condition. This helmet has not been cleaned or polished. Restoration project to thus it is BARGAIN PRICED
