Prestigious Artillery Unit.

Hanoverian 10th Artillery Regiment (Artillery Regt. von Scharnhorst - 1st Hanoverian- Hdq. Hanover) Model-1897 after 1899. Black lacquered leather helmet body with fine fire gilt metal trim. The helmet body has fine form and firm stitching to back visor. Front visor remains loose. The exterior black lacquered finish is dull with age but perfect and even with no losses or imperfection. Near mint finish. There are no extra holes in helmet body, The frontplate is the Prussian Line Eagle with the added banners “Peninsula - Waterloo - Gohrde” for this regiment service in the Napoleonic Wars. The frontplate has left a deep impression in the helmet body as evidenced in photos.

Gilded round spike base with star retainers. The base is topped by a round ball finial. The helmet interior has fine sweat leather and silk headliner in MINT condition with no tears or dirt. Inner visors red and green as is normal for officer helmets. Rounded gold chinscales on gold rosettes. Officer Reichs and Prussian cockades. This helmet is in excellent condition and has never been cleaned or polished. Prestigious Hanoverian Artillery Regiment.
