French Enlisted Dragoon Helmet model 1874
A genuine late production...worn until WW1
Nickeled steel helmet body in overall beautiful condition (see pictures). Tall Brass Cimier with the "Medusa head" emblem to the front. Period Black horse mane on top and back of the helmet. No particular markings as privatly purchased. Original screw attachments. Original "Plumet" -missing its olive- and "Porte Plumet" in Brass.
The Helmet "bandeau" - in stamped brass- is the French Grenade surrounded by laurel leaves. Both original chinscales remain attached to the helmet by the standart bayonet type fixation. Inside black lining reamins near mint and original to helmet. Front visor painted green as was the rule for the later models worn all the way to the begining of WW1 and back visor painted in black. A genuine piece in untouched original condition.
