Württemberg Reserve Infantry Officers Pickelhaube

Black lacquered leather helmet body in excellent shape and near mint condition. Lacquer with no cracks or crazing. Beautiful Fire Gilt trim that is litteraly left uncleaned as found. The Frontplate is the Wurttemberg coat of arms -"Fire Gilt" - with the "Furschtlos und Trew" banner. No extra holes. The center has the silver Wurttemberg "Reserve Cross". Flat gold chinscales retained by rosettes over a set of Officers Wurttemberg and Reich colored Cockades.

Tall Spike over Cross Base maintained by 4 gilt stars (one is a later replacement). The top of the spike unscrews to adapt a trichter for Parade. Square front visor with green underlay of fine "Basane" leather. Back visor has the red underlay. Both visors have firm stitching. The Inside of the helmet is full officers with the Calf skin lining and silk liner in excellent condition, both the straws of the ribbed silk lining are visible towards the front and need to be gently pushed inside if one wishes....
