Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt 96th Reserve Infantry Officers Pickelhaube

Schwartzburg Rudolstadt - 96th Infantry Regiment - III Battalion - Reserve Officer Model 1897. Black lacquered leather helmet body with gilded brass trim. The helmet body in excellent condition with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is in near perfect condition. No extra holes in helmet body. Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. The headliner shows slight wear and has some minor tears. Inner visors red and green as is normal for officer helmets. All metal trim is gilded brass.

The frontplate for the helmet Prussian style line eagle without the banner. On the eagle’s breast is a silver star with the Coat of Arms of Schwartzburg Rudoldstadt in the center with the Reserve Cross with banner “Mit Gott fur Furst und Vaterland” immediately below star. Officer style round spike and base. Gold stars secure the spike base to helmet body. Flat style chinscales on gold rosettes. Standard Reichs and Blue and White Schwartzburg cockades. Very rare regimental helmet that represents only 1 Battalion.  The helmet is all original and uncleaned.
