Saxon Infantry Enlisted Pickelhaube
Out of the woodwork
Saxon 106th Line Infantry enlisted man Model 1895. Black lacquered helmet body with brass trim. Helmet body in good shape with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is crazed with age with minor lacquer loss. No extra holes in helmet body. Black leather tongue style liner in excellent shape. Marked inside back visor with the date 1912 and "IR 106".
Prewar quality brass trim. Enlisted style spike top that does not untwist. Original brass brads holding base to helmet body. Frontplate is the Saxon Line regiments brass star and silver crest secured to helmet body by leather wedges. No chinstrap. Original Reichs non-serrated EM cockade held by one original strap fixture in brass. Missing Saxon cockade. This helmet literally comes out of the woodwork. A nice example of a Saxon prewar helmet.
