Saxon 100th Leib-Infantry Regt. Enlisted Pickelhaube
Schrapnel damaged.

Black lacquered leather body in excellent shape with two schrapnel or other impacts, later repaired. Silver trim with the Saxon silver starbusrt and the brass coat of arms in its center. Note that the star has had an impact damage at the bottom right (when looking at it) that also went through the leather (see pictures). No xtra holes that indicate another plate was ever on it. Side impact also has been repaired/repluged (se pictures).
Silver spike to that unscrews for parade bush retained by four silver brads. M91 side lugs with original Reichs and Saxon Cockades. Original silver mounted leather strap. The inside of the lining is in poor condition and dry. the front visor trim also is loose, but visor has firm stitching. a little TLC is needed and could give this helmet a better looks! The neat part, is also the back visor, nicely marked to the "100 R" in 1899 and again in 1900...and re-issued in 1912. A genuine helmet from a rare unit, that has seen some action.
