Prussian "Magdeburg" Enlisted Field Artillery Pickelhaube

Beautiful marked - Left untouched

$995.00

Black lackered helmet body with some age crazing. Overall shape of helmet remains in good condition with some minor lacquer loss. This helmet has quite a nice story for itself when going through the markings inside. Initialy issued in 1895 to the 8th Battery. It was re-issued in 1899 to the 5th Battery and later most likely used in WW1 as the side posts seem to be of the model 1915 that would correspond to the last issue marking in the back visor to the 4th Battery! The shell is also marked "M.Fd.A.R.4" which stands for the Magdeburg Feld Artillerie Regimnet 4.

Brass Trim left uncleaned with Enlisted type ball top (a couple of dents), Prussian Line Eagle & Field Artillery (non vented) back spine. No extra holes in helmet body. An Original leather strap completes this helmet over a set of Enlisted Cockades (replaced).
