Prussian Jäger Officers Shako for the 1st & 2nd Battalions
Outstanding and Rare Unit.
Prussian Jaeger Officers Shako for the 1st (Graf Yorck von Wartenburg) and 2nd (Furst Bismarck) Battalions, circa 1900. From a distinguished old collection. Black leather- cloth covered body with fine fire gilt metals trim. Helmet has excellent form and firm stitching. Leather lacquer is very shiny and cloth covering has only one small tear in back (see photo). Excellent ++ overall condition. No extra holes in helmet body.
Interior has officer style sweat leather with ribbed silk headliner. Headliner in excellent to near mint condition. Smaller type Prussian line eagle with the monogram FWR in the center of the Eagles breast. Flat officer style gilted chinscales on rosettes. Officer Reichs Cockade on right side of helmet. Officer silver bullion field badge with black velvet center. Outstanding and rare helmet from a rare battalion sized unit. Condition is near mint.
