Prussian Infantry Landwehr Officer Pickelhaube

Prussian Infantry Officer for Landwehr Regiments Model 1897. Fine black lacquered helmet body with fire gilded trim. Helmet body has good form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer shows age and use but is in good condition. Frontplate is the Prussian Line Regiments eagle without banner and with a Prussian Landwehr cross on the eagles breast (no silvering). Holes in the helmet body have been enlarged to adapt the Landwehr plate once the Officer was assigned to the Landwehr (see pictures).

Officer style spike and base with screw retainers. Interior sweat leather with silk headliner. Liner show use and wear but is complete (see photos). Flat Officer chinscales on rosettes. Officer style 2- piece Reich and Prussian cockades. Nice Landwehr Officer helmet in good condition.
