Prussian Hanoverian "Waterloo" Enlisted Pickelhaube
Straight "Woodworks" find.
Hannoverian Infantry Regiment, Enlisted Man Model 1895. Out of the woodwork find. Black lacquered leather body with round front visor and gold trim. Helmet has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is in excellent shape. Interior has an EM style leather lining that is still supple and in excellent condition. Front and back visors with firm stitching - Note that front visor trim is brocken in the center, that can be easily fixed however (see photo).
Round spike base with 4 split brad retainers (one later replacement). Gold EM type spike that is non removable as this unit does not wear a parade plume. Front plate is the Prussian Eagle with the "Mitt Gott Fur Koenig und Vaterland" banner and the Bandeau "Waterloo" for the regiments service in the Napoleonic Wars. NO extra holes in helmet body. Chinstrap with leather replaced and original cockades with a paint touch up. A beautiful helmet overall.
