Prussian Hanoverian "La Belle Alliance" Enlisted Pickelhaube
Beautiful and Original Regimental Markings

Prussian/ Hannovarian 87th Infantry Regiment Enlisted Man Pickelhaube. The 87th Regiment fought as The Kings German Legion during the Napoleonic Wars of the early 1800’s. Black lacquered leather helmet with brass trim. Lacquer remains in impecable condition. Helmet body is slightly shrunk and caved in (would come back on a head form. Firm stitching to both visors.
Enlised style Prussian line eagle with battle honor banners “LaBelle Alliance”. Due to shell shrinkage over the years the plate seem a little off the helmet. However both were born together. The leather wedges that hold the plate to the shell are litteraly sunken inside the grommets. They should never be removed!. Brass spike with the four retaining brads. Original Chinstrap on M1891 posts with both Cockades.
Inside lining has some loss and damage (see pictures) but still remains supple (needs TLC). Back visor with the KammerStempel of "R.87" and issue date of "1911". Extra rare Regimentaly marked original!
