Prussian (Hanover) 10th Field Artillery (also 61 FAR 1,4,5 and 6 Battery) One Year Volunteer Model 1895-99 to Parade. All original helmet from an old collection. Black lacquered leather helmet body with brass trim. Helmet body has excellent form with firm stitching. Exterior finish show age patina but no damage or lacquer loss. Interior has full leather EM liner that is still supple. Marked inside back visor "1 te B" and "1902". A "f" is deeply stamped into back visor indicating the helmet is serviceable for field use. Inside helmet bell is the owners label "Einjahrig Freiwillige Ihssen 1 Batterie". Helmet body has no extra holes.
Brass trim has even patina. Frontplate is the Prussian line Eagle with the banners "Peninsula Waterloo Gohrde". The Peninsula and Gohrde banners are stamped into the plate with the Waterloo banner an extra piece. Proper non-vented back spine for field artillery. Base has NCO Pearl Ring. Instead of ball there is a black horse hair parade plume. Rounded chinscales on M91 side lugs. EM style Reichs and Prussian cockades. Helmet has never been cleaned or polished. 100% original. Extremely rare find.
