Prussian Garde du Corps Enlisted Helmet to Parade

Prussian Guard du Corps NCO/One Year Volunteer, Model 1867. This is an all original helmet that has been professionally cleaned and polished. We found this great helmet "out of the woodwork" . It had dings and dents with damage to the chinscales and liner from years of poor storage. We felt it deserved special care so we gave it to our professional metal restorer in Voila' he did his magic and saved this wonderful helmet. We will fully describe the helmet and all that has been done to it.
The helmet has an early Model 1867 pattern tombac bell with German Silver trim. The restorer has reformed the body and removed all the dents. The helmet now has a perfect exterior finish. Helmet body marked under left rosette "G d C and 6 C". Interior of helmet has original black paint. No extra holes in helmet body. Officer style liner is original to the helmet but had to be reformed as it was warped from age. We suspect that the helmet was modified by the wearer as it is an officer type. Frontplate is original to the helmet with 3 loop retainers. The loops had to be resoldered. Leather wedges are new. Tombac heavy chinscales are original except for the end (joining pieces) that were lost. The chinscales have been professionally remounted. Screw retainer for rosette. Single large stamped steel large Prussian cockade on right side of helmet. Helmet comes with original EM style base and spike. Silver studs have original old pattern looped nuts. Helmet also comes with original German Silver EM Parade Eagle on an elliptical base. Eagle has excellent form and detail. There are a few small separations on solder lines but no broken areas (see photos). Helmet has original gold crown . Eagle mounted to helmet with the original central screw, wing nut and washer.
The helmet has been cleaned and repaired but is a genuine and original helmet. Based on the configuration we assume that the helmet was an original early M1867 helmet that was later converted to use by an Officer Candidate or One Year Volunteer. Overall helmet has excellent form and presentation. It is the Classic Guard du Corps parade helmet.
If buyer does not want to have the Parade Eagle we will reduced the purchase price by $2850.
