Prussian Felt Ersatz Enlisted Infantry Pickelhaube

Nice example of a felt "Filz" Pickelhaube

Prussian Artillery green felt Ersatz helmet for an enlisted man circa 1914. Recent estate sale find.  Fine green felt helmet body with brass trim. Felt body is very firm and in excellent shape with only 2 small tears on edges (see photos).  Prewar quality brass trim.  Black leather tongue style liner in excellent shape but is missing one leather tongue (see photos).  No visible markings.  Enlisted style artillery ball top that does not untwist.  Original brass brads holding base to helmet body.  Frontplate is the Prussian Line regiments Eagle secured to helmet body by leather wedges. Unusual field gray/green cloth covered leather chinstrap with brass hardware (see PHOTOS).  We have not seen a style like this before but it looks and may be original (?).  Original Reichs and Prussian EM cockades.  Beautiful example of a Classic Wartime felt Ersatz helmet.
