Prussian Enlisted 67th Field Artillery Pickelhaube

An "Old Soldier" ...right out of the "woodwork

Prussian 67th Field Artillery Enlisted Man Model 1895. Helmet is an "Old Soldier" and is right out of the "woodwork". Original and untouched. Black lacquered leather helmet body with brass trim. Helmet body is in good shape and firm stitching. No extra holes behind frontplate in helmet body BUT there is a small puncture/schrapnel hole in left back part of helmet bell. Exterior lacquer in good condition with age crazing and some scratches.

There is no lacquer loss. Interior undyed leather liner is in "used" condition and is missing 2 leather tabs. Interior of visors have indistinguishable markings but inside the bell is a strongly written in white paint "67 FAR", "1900" "5R" and then "1". Brass trim has not been cleaned or polished. Balltop mounted on a round base with four round domes at spike base. The artillery ball top has been pushed in (see photos). Brass Prussian Line Eagle on wedges. M1891 side lugs. No chinstrap or cockades. Untouched helmet that has probably seen combat in World War I. I am sure it has an interesting story to tell.
