Prussian "Adels Helm" - for Infantry Officer
A rare and unusual find in near MINT condition
Prussian Adels ( Noblemans ) Helmet
Prussian Infantry Officer Model 1897 for a member of the Prussian Nobility. Black leather helmet body with fine fire gilded trim. From the family in Germany. Helmet is untouched and has never been cleaned. Body has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer in excellent to mint condition. There are an extra set of holes in helmet body that showed a front plate change in the time of the helmets use. It was common for Noblemen to change regiments often, some instead an entire new helmet and only the front plate was exchanged.
The line Prussian front plate has made a firm impression in the leather and was definitely the last one attributed to this Officier. Elegant soft sweat leather helmet liner with untouched silk liner. Silk headliner has a gold embossed nobleman (Baron) crown (FreiherrnKrone) over the letter “W”. Inside visors are colored red and green, round front visor. Fine fire gilded line Prussian Eagle frontplate - Orb missing the small cross. Officers spike top and base with 4 gold stars (one star was missing and replaced). Flat gold chinscales with gold rosettes. Standard Reichs and Prussian Officer cockades. Beautiful and outstanding looking helmet in near mint condition.
