Prussian 46th Field Artillery (Niedersachsisches) Regiment - 6th Battery - EM Model 1895-1899. Black lacquered leather helmet body with bright brass trim. Helmet body in excellent shape with near perfect lacquer finish and firm stitching. No extra holes in helmet body. Interior has full Em style black leather liner that is still supple. Inside back visor is found the stamps “1900” and “6 B”. As well the inside front of the helmet shell "46 FAR”.
The helmet frontplate is the Prussian Line Eagle with the banners “Peninsula-Waterloo-Gohrde” to Honor this artillery units service in the King George of Englands “German Legion”. This awarded to the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th Batteries of the 46th Field Artillery Regiment. The helmet plate is fixed to the body with two original leather wedges, we did not try to force them. but took good pictures. Enlisted style brass artillery ball top. Original leather chinstrap. Enlisted Style Reichs and Prussian cockades. This helmet is in excellent plus condition. All original and untouched. Extremely RARE and marked helmet.
