Hessen 115th Leib-Garde Infantry NCO Pickelhaube

Hessen 115th Private Purchase Helmet of Officers Grade. Most likely this helmet went through a rough time as the rear part of it is missing with some tears (see pictures). The Overall lacquer remains in nice condition and the leather remains supple. All Silver trim. The front plate is the Hessen Lion with the order of Ludwig in it center and "Gott Ehre Vaterland". On top of the plate is the silver bandeau with the "1621" banner. Silver cross base with a tall Officers spike that unscrews (..should unscrew we did not force it).

The inside of the helmet remains complete with calfskin and silk headliner in excellent condition. The top of the shell shows a large stain where the backspine once was attached. The helmet came with both Cocardes (included in sale) only remnant of chinscales were attached. We are adding a pair of original silver scales to complete it.
