Hanovarian 14th Uhlan Officer Tschapka

Hannoverian. 14th Uhlan Regiment Officer Tschapka Model 1897. Wonderful helmet from an old collection. Black lacquered leather body with round front visor and black leather mortar board. Very large size. Silver metal trim with gold chinscales. Helmet has excellent form and firm stitching with proper turned down front visor. Exterior lacquer shows age but is in good condition. The finish does show light scratched to the lacquer finish. Leather mortarboard is in excellent shape. On top of mortarboard is the officer style hook for bullion cords.

Bullion Prussian Officer field badge. No extra holes in helmet body. The helmet interior headliner has soft sweat leather and silk headliner. Lining that has some minor discoloration due to age and wear but is complete. Front plate is the Prussian Line Eagle in silver with the Battle honor banners “ Waterloo - Peninsula - Garza Hernandez” surrounding the eagle. Rounded gold chinscales on rosettes. Reichs Officer cockade on right side. Helmet includes Silver Bullion Parade Cords. The cords are complete but show wear.
