Bavarian Schwere Reiter Cavalry Enlisted Pickelhaube
Rare and Regimentally Marked. Untouched!

Black leather helmet body in excellent shape have "heavy construction". No crazing or lacquer loss...pristine. Dated 1915 one of the last "pre-war" types". The square front visor appears to be cardboards "ersatz" material. Tall Spike that unscrews over Bavarian model cross base and Bavarian type perlring typical to this pattern. 4 rounds stud retainers in silver. Back visor dated "1915" and marked to the "1.S.R.R" (1st Schwere Reiter Regiment).
Silver frontplate that Unscrews (no extra holes) of the model 1915 without laurel leaves. "In Treue Fest" banner. Frontplate is fixed to the helmet by the unique Bavarian wing nuts. A set of converx M1891 type chinscales complete this helmet. Chinscales are original to this helmet and came with it. They appear to be in wartime material or brass and once silvered. Single Bavarian Enlisted Cockade. Reichs Cockade is missing. We did not try to clean this helmet and left it as is. A Rare Helmet to find from a UNIQUE regiment.
