Bavarian Reserve Chevau-Leger Officer Pickelhaube

Bavarian Light Cavalry Officer Model 1897 Pickelhaube. Absolutely original and untouched, in near mint condition. Black lacquered leather helmet body with fire gilt trim. Helmet body has nice form and firm stitching. No extra holes in helmet body. Exterior lacquer in very nice condition. Interior has the officer brown sweat leather and brown/red colored silk headliner in near Mint condition -just some sweat traces- Crossed spike base with officers pearl ring and extra tall removable fluted spike.

Frontplate is the frosted fire gilt Bavarian Wappen with the "in Treue Fest" bandeau. The Frontplate is attached to helmet body with split brad retainers that have not been opened (one set broke of -see picture). Convex gilt chinscales with rosettes. Reichs and Bavarian cockades. Inside helmet shell Marked with size "54 3/4". A beautiful helmet.
