Bavarian General Adjudant or Arzt Pickelhaube

Absolutely original and untouched...RARE!

$6 450.00

Bavarian Adjutant General Officer Model 1897 post May, 1914. Absolutely original and untouched, a bit "salty" with age. General Officers in Bavaria were in silver metal color while General Adjutants wore gold trim. Black lacquered leather helmet body with fire gilt trim. Helmet body has nice form and firm stitching. No extra holes in helmet body. Exterior lacquer in very nice condition with only minor crazing. Interior has the officer brown sweat leather and brown/red colored silk headliner in near Mint condition...only a bit dirty. Crossed spike base with officers pearl ring and removable fluted spike.

Frontplate is the frosted fire gilt Bavarian Wappen with the enameled crest for Bavarian General Officers attributed after May, 1914. No damage to the enamel which is quite rare by itself. This Frontplate is futhermore attached to helmet body with split brad retainers that have not been opened. Convex gilt chinscales with rosettes. Officer Reichs and Bavarian cockades. Extremely rare!!
