Baden Leib (Life) Guard Grenadier Officer helmet Model 1897. The 109th Regiment was headquartered in Karlsruhe. Beautiful out of the woodwork and untouched helmet. Black lacquered leather helmet complete with all fittings in "frosty" silver fittings. Helmet body has good form and firm stitching. Exterior black lacquer very fine but 2 small chips above right side of dragon's wing (see photo). Helmet body has no extra holes. Complete with sweat leather and silk headliner.
The helmet emblem of the Badische Greif with high vaulted star of the House Order of Loyalty. Cross is finely red enameled and gilded. Fine quality silver metal trim. Silver spike base extra tall spike and golden star screws at base. All trim is in perfect shape and has NOT been polished. Flat gold-plated scale chains on silver rosettes. Officer Reichs and non-serrated Baden cockades. Inside soft brown sweat leather sand colored silk lining. The lining with slight traces of use, otherwise very nicely preserved. Outstanding and rare Baden Guard helmet. Uncleaned and untouched. Very rare find in today's market.
