Back visor nicely Marked/Stamped to the "L.B.5" or Luftschiffer Battalion 5 and dated 1913 which also was the year the Battalion was created and stationed in Graundenz.
Prussian Luftschiffer Battalion shako model 1895. Black leather body in excellent form and firm stitching. Some lacquer loss as can be seen on pictures on the top otherwise minor crazing from age overall. Interior has the EM style black dyed leather headliner in excellent and soft condition.
Prussian smaller type line eagle for shakos in silver. No extra holes in helmet body. Leather chinstrap (later replacement) and Original Reichs Cockard and field badge. Quite a rare and unusual Shako, especially when Marked with the "KAMMERSTEMPFEL" that makes this one a virgin in its category. Very Hard to find with the original Markings.

Initially created the 27th of March in 1884 as "Ballon-Detachement" that later became the Luftschiffer Battalion #1 in 1901. Two further battalions (2nd and 3rd) came about in 1911 and later the two remain Prussian units created in 1913.
