Bavarian officer field badge attached to mortar board. Outstanding and all original Uhlan helmet. Fantastic WWI period helmet.
Bavarian 2nd Uhlan Regiment Officer circa 1914. Helmet is probably from the early wartime era as front visor trim is zinc and sweat leather is non serrated as is commonly seen in wartime helmets. Black lacquered leather helmet body with silver trim. Leather body has excellent shape and form. Leather covered mortar board even and in good shape. Slight bruising to corners as is normal in "out of the woodwork" pieces. Exterior lacquer dull with age but no lacquer loss. No extra holes in helmet body. Light colored sweat leather that has non serrated edges. Silk cloth headliner. Liner in good condition but shows wear.
Beautiful frosted silver Bavarian frontplate. Rounded silver chinscales that is missing the center linking stud (see photo). Reichs cockade on right side of helmet. Bavarian officer field badge attached to mortar board. Outstanding and all original Uhlan helmet. Fantastic WWI period helmet.
