White Steel body in excellent shape overall with nice markings. Brass Cimier that still bears the original horsehair tail and the Marmouset with the red horsehair. Hemet furthermore has the original "peau de vache marine" or Seal Skin bandeau around its base with approx 50% of the hair remaining and some minor stitches.
Brass model 1845 type chained scales held by a floral type rosette. One leather strap has been replaced it seems. Original liner that is a little tired as often found in an helmet that is over 170 years old, but nonetheless present with a couple a repairs. A rare find in todays market place as these helmets are now being "re-manufactured" in some eastern countries, this one however is a guaranteed 100% original example.
