Rare Find!! Prussian Dragoon (Silver trimmed regiments) Officer Model 1871/99. Black lacquered leather helmet body with silver trim. Helmet body has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer still has soft age related sheen an stays in very nice condition with no lacquer loss. Interior has officer sweat leather and silk headliner a little dirty but complete. Sweat leather is very well kept and supple. Interior visors are red and green as appropriate for officer. No extra holes in helmet body.
Metal trim is beautiful silver that has never been cleaned or polished. Crossed spike base with removable spike maintained by gilt officers stars. Front plate is the Prussian Dragoon style eagle in Frosted Silver with the "WATERLOO" bandeau awarded in 1899 by Wilhelm II. Note that plate left deep marks in the helmet body and is a definite Original to this helmet. Crown on eagles head bears a small solder repair touch that can be seen when removed. Rounded gold chinscales with silver rosettes. Officer 2 piece Reichs and Prussian cockades. Extremely rare find in today's market place. Absolutely 100% Original and Untouched helmet. Beautifully "salty" with age.
