Excellent untouched headgear from a rare regiment. Almost impossible to find in such nice condition.

Hessen 23rd or 24th Dragoon Regiment  eigentum NCO or Enlisted Man Model 1895.  Great untouched helmet.  Black lacquered helmet body with all silver trim.  Helmet body has excelllent shape with firm stitching.  Exterior lacquer in excellent shape a little dull from age but has no lacquer loss.  Interior has full EM style leather liner in about MINT condition.  No extra holes in helmet body.  Interior has never been altered or cleaned.  Frontplate is the  silver Hessen Lion.  All metal trim is German Silver.   Cross spiked base with dome retainers.  Fluted Hessen style spike that is removable for the placement of a plume for parade and does unscrew.   Original rounded silver chinscales on screw type rosettes.  Stamped non serrated Hessen cockade with standard Reichs cockade. Outstanding and rare Hessen dragoon EM/NCO helmet.  Untouched and all original.
