Wurttemberg General Officers Plume and Trichter for Pickelhaube

Wurttemberg General Officers Plume and Trichter for Pickelhaube

Age of Kings recently acquired this from a very old collection. Wurttemberg colored feathered plume like the type used by General Officer.

The plume is definitely old, but we are not sure about it being from the Imperial Era. It is possibly wartime or post war manufacture in multiple pieces as were the prewar Plumes of higher grade. The gold trichter is a genuine Imperial Era General Officer type. The feathers have the faded White - Red - Black colors. They are multiple pieces that have been glued together to make the proper length and fullness. Feathered plumes of the Imperial era were known to have been sewn together.   Top has the Gild retaining "button" along with the finer grade feather fluff or "duvet".

Very impressive in appearance and definitely shows age. Plume furthermore come in its Large Original Holder and inner part. Note that only to top cardboard lid is missing.
A genuine Wurttemberg General Officer plume with trichter today sells for over $5000. We feel this plume to be truly original but post WW1 period therefore offering it  at $2,250.
