These regiments were engaged in Spain and Waterloo under the "Kings German Legion" during the Napoleonic Wars.
Black lacquered leather helmet body with nicely gilded brass trim. Body with some minor crazing all over is most likely of wartime manufacture. Front plate is the Prussian Officers Eagle in beautiful Fire Gilted condition with the "Bandeau" added as a two piece construction which is proper for Officers. No extra holes as this plate belonged to this helmet. Round front visor trim. Helmet has good form and firm stitching. Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. Silk headliner shows minor wear but is slightly dirty. Inner visors colored read and green. Metal trim has fine golden color left totally uncleaned .
Round spike base with split star retainers. Smooth officers removable spike over Pearling base - note that the base being the only wartime testimony is losing some of its gilting due to Erzats zinc material used at this time. Flat chinscales on rosette. Officer Reichs and Prussian cockades. Overall very fine Infantry Officers helmet hard to find in original condition
