Black lacquered leather helmet body with fine gilded brass trim. Helmet has good form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer slightly spider crazing but no major damage or loss. No extra holes in helmet body. Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. Both leather and silk are dirty. Inner visors colored red and green as appropriate for an officers helmet.
Front plate is the large Prussian Guard Eagle with the Order of the Black Eagle multi piece silver star with enameled center on the eagles breast. Front plate has all original fire gilt. Officer round helmet spike base with removable ball top for Artillery. Officer back spine. Flat chin scales on rosettes for the Foot Artillery Regiment. Officer Prussian and Reichs cockades. Bargain price but to cleaning and interior condition. Otherwise a Rare and original Prussian Guards helmet. Outstanding appearance.
