Bavarian Field Artillery Officer Model 1897 with Red Parade Plume. Black lacquered helmet body with brass trim. Body has good form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer in overall excellent shape with small areas of age related crazing. Back visor is pinched in slightly. Interior has officer sweat leather with silk headliner. Interior shows heavy use with several small tears to leather liner. Silk head liner has small tears and is dirty. Inner visors colored red and green as is proper for officers helmet.
No extra holes in helmet body. Brass metal trim in excellent condition. Officer style Bavarian frontplate. Crossed spike base with star retainers. Rounded chinscales on rosettes. Mounted on cross base is tall fluted plume trichter with bright colored red officer style Yak hair plume. Bavarian Field Artillery Officer wore the red Yak hair plume to parade.
