Acquired from the estate of a WWII vet. Black Lacquered fiber body with silver trim.
Bavarian Schwere Reiter Silver trimmed Officer Model 1897. Acquired from the estate of a WWII vet. Black Lacquered fiber body with silver trim. Helmet body with square visor has good form and firm stitching. External finish near perfect. Inside has sweat leather and green silk headliner. Sweat leather has small tear where left front visor brad has torn it from the inside. Otherwise liner shows use and wear but is intact and still supple. Inner visors colored red and green.
No extra holes in helmet body. Metal trim is in excellent shape. Front plate is Bavarian frontplate. Rounded chinscales on split Brad rosettes. Officer style Reich and Bavarian cockades. Tall Officer fluted spike. 3 Star retainers as is proper for Bavaria. This is not a wartime era helmet. All trim and body have pre-war quality. Over all near excellent condition. Silver trimmed Bavarian helmets are much rarer and more desired.
