Beautiful black lacquered leather helmet body with fine fire gilt trim. Helmet body in very good condition with fine form and firm stitching.

Prussian Guard Train One Year Volunteer Model 1897.   Beautiful black lacquered leather helmet body with fine fire gilt trim.  Helmet body in very good condition with fine form and firm stitching.  Exterior lacquer has age related crazing but no lacquer loss.  Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner shows wear and use.   Interior visors red and green. 

Spike base does not have officer style ornamentation but does have stars at spike base.  This is common for One Year Volunteers.  Frontplate is the Guards Eagle with silver star with center enamel.  Rounded gilt chinscales on rosettes as was used by the Train Batallion.  Officer style 2 piece Reichs and Prussian cockades.  Helmet is in very good condition.
