Helmet body in near mint condition with fine form and firm stitching.  Exterior lacquer on helmet body nearly mint. 

Prussian Infantry Landwehr Officer Model 1897.  Beautiful black lacquered leather helmet body with fine fire gilt trim.  Helmet body in near mint condition with fine form and firm stitching.  Exterior lacquer on helmet body nearly mint.  Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. Only 2 small tears in silk from rubbing on the back of the frontplate retaining screws.   Interior visors colored red and green.  No extra holes in helmet body

Frontplate is the Prussian Line Regiments eagle without banner and with a silver reserve cross in the center of the eagle's chest.  Round spike base with star retainers.  Flat gilt chinscales on rosettes.  Officer style 2 piece Reichs and Prussian cockades.  Helmet is in near mint condition and appears never to have been worn.  Outstanding helmet
