Hessen 118th Reserve Infantry Regiment Pickelhaube

Hessen 118th Reserve Infantry Regiment Enlisted Man Model 1895.  This helmet is all original and uncleaned.  Black lacquered leather helmet with brass trim. Helmet body has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer in excellent condition. No lacquer loss but mild age related crazing. No extra holes in helmet body. The frontplate is the Hessen Lion with plain reserve cross. The front plate is  fixed with screw and nut.

Hessen style cross base with Hessen spike that unscrews on the top. The cross base is maintained by round brads. Leather EM style leather liner that shows some wear (see photos).  Regimental marked inside back visor “IR 118"  "1B" "1C  II”. Original Leather strap fixed over a Model 91 side lug.  Original Reich and Hessen cockades. Fine, original and profusely marked Hessen helmet.
