French Cuirassier de la Garde "Modified" in 1872 Helmet Plate

French III Empire Model 1854 Cuirassier de la Garde Helmet Bandeau - Modified after the fall of the Empire - adapted with a "Flaming Bomb or Grenade" instead of the typical "N" used on these helmets. This one is complete an 100% original. Notice that the "N" was cut-out and replaced with the New Emblem. It was then "Cast" and ALL models that we have seen have the same configuration, hence the solder mark of the repair is still visible on the newly pressed plate! RARE as only a few helmets made it through this transition.
