Hessen 115th Leib-Garde Infantry Enlisted Pickelhaube

Woodwork find. 100% Period Pickelhaube.

Black lacquered leather in very good to excellent condition with minor crazing. Silver trim that was left untouched/uncleaned as found. The frontplate is the Hessen Leib Garde Silver Lion with the center star of the Ludwig Order "Gott Ehre Vaterland". Plate and Star 100% original and mounted on helmet by two loops and leather wedges. Over the plate the silver commemoration bandeau with "1621".

Hessen style cross base mounted with silver split brads. The helmet came to us with a silver spike that has been cleaned and does not match the rest of the helmet uncleaned patina. Therefore we decided to sell this helmet without spike...but will leave the replacement for the new owner to decide whether he wants to keep as is or clean the helmet!

Inside black liner in perfect condition and supple. Front and back visors solidly attached. Nice Army quatermaster markings to the "R.B.A.18" corps. No strap or Cockades. 100% original to period.
